Graduation Information

How to Apply for Graduation

1. Obtain the graduation application either online or at the Registrar’s office in the Student Services Building.

2. On the graduation application list all courses you have taken to complete your major. Please list the courses in order as they appear on your advising grid, and put the exact course number and title of the course you took (i.e. for GEOG 1 at CCSF, call it GEOG1 on your application). Don’t forget to list work-in-progress (at the bottom of the form), incomplete grades, and transfer courses.

3. Once the application is complete, you must obtain the signature of your concentration advisor and department chair. Office hours and contact info for advisors can be found here. If you have a double major, separate applications should be filled out for each major.

4. Take the application with signatures to the Bursar’s Office and pay the $100.00 application fee.

*Graduation Applications are due:*
Fall graduation - last Friday in September,
Spring graduation - third Friday in February,
Summer graduation - second Friday in July.

For more information, please go to Office of the Registrar.

ENVS Graduation Reception

Each year the Environmental Studies Program holds a reception to honor its graduates. We like to give a more personal level of recognition than is found at the University-wide commencement. We invite graduates to come and bring family & friends, space permitting. Cap & gown are optional (traditionally about 3/4ths of the graduates wear them).

2012 Reception
Date: Friday, May 18th, 2012
Time: 2:00-3:30pm
Location: Knuth Hall (Creative Arts Building) - click for directions, info on parking, and a campus map.

Please RSVP to envs@sfsu.edu to let us know if you will be attending and how many guests you would like to bring by Friday, April 27th.  Any number of people over 5 (you plus 4 guests) will be added to a waiting list, and after the 4/29 deadline you will be notified of how many of your guests we will have space for. (There are no tickets required, but we want to keep track of how many are attending to ensure we don't have more guests than seats.) Also please notify us if you will have any guests requiring wheelchair seating so we can accommodate.

Contact envs@sfsu.edu with any questions.
