Welcome to the Environmental Studies Program
While the Environmental Studies Program is officially impacted, we are currently accepting all applicants and expect to do so for some time. Students are easily getting their classes and are able to graduate on time. So please don't let the impacted status scare you off - we welcome all new majors.
Spring 2014 Admissions
The Environmental Studies Program will not be accepting applications for new transfer students or first time freshman for Spring 2014. However, petitions for change of major to ENVS for current SF State students will be accepted on a continuous basis throughout the academic year. To apply bring a completed Change of Major Form and DARS report to the ENVS office in HSS 210. To be considered for admission you must have completed fewer than 96 units by the end of the Fall 2013 semester.
How to Apply to be an Environmental Studies Major for Fall 2014
For Fall 2014, off campus students wishing to become Environmental Studies majors (transfer students and first time freshmen) will have to apply to the major. When completing the online application, indicate Environmental Studies (any of the degrees) as your first choice of major when applying for admission to the campus.
We will notify those accepted into the major in April, and those who plan to attend SF State must accept their admission offer during the designated time period.
For new SFSU students, please see the University Admissions website for dates, deadlines, fees, and application instructions.
